Highlander II European Version Shot-By-Shot

This is a shot-by-shot breakdown of the European Version of Highlander II.

I originally transcribed the American Version of Highlander II using the laserdisc and time codes found there. The descriptions in italics are new footage found in this version. I have not gone back and corrected these documents. I present them here for really obsessive Highlander fans. - Sean Murphy

Male Radio Announcer : “Good morning. Today’s top story is the Ozone layer. It continues to disintegrate, taking with it our protection from the sun’s rays. NASA scientists.”

Female Radio announcer : “The White House today stated a national emergency. The president urged all....”

Male Radio Announcer : “In Africa where shelter from the sun is almost non-existent, the dead and dying number in the millions. “

? : “TSC, this is Houston Space Control. Satellite is in final receiving position. You can start final countdown.”

TSC : “Florida control, this is TSC. The December shield installation is ready to receive. To all power sources around the world, this is TSC. We are ready to receive. Launch minus 10-”

Louise : “Something is being kept very, very quiet. Even your old pal Alan is on a tight leash. I couldn’t get anyone to listen to me.”

Louise : “Well of course, somebody had to get the media’s attention. Start asking questions, find out the truth.

Announcer : “The Psychic cook. Dip into the paranormal pantry with the special guest ghost and prepare meals-”

announcer : “Weekdays at 5 (9?) Brought to you by zenon, the worlds highest rated octane??? gasoline. Available at service stations everywhere. Only $55 dollars a gallon.”

Conner : “Sure. Take care of yourself Alan. Oh, by the way, how is the shield business?”

Conner : “It must be great to have every country in the world as your customer.”

Blake : “Actually Mr. Macleod, we prefer to think that we protect the population of the planet from death by solar radiation.”

Blake : “That would indeed be a great day for the human race, wouldn’t it? But it really makes no difference anymore since you built the shield to last forever.”

Conner : “It was, it was the deepest blue you ever saw. But it was more than that. White clouds suddenly turning dark with rain. Oh, and the smell of grass after the storm.”

Conner : “Red leaves in fall, snow in winter. It was beautiful. And we thought it would last forever. I wish you could have seen it.”

Conner : “After all this time I was ready to kick back, grow old, die. Then you send those punks down here.”

Katana : “Remember the golden rule Highlander. We must never fight on holy ground. And this-”

Katana : “Power. I have risen to it while you have been crushed by it’s weight.”

Blake : “Gentlemen. As I believe you know there’s been a bit of a shuffling of the deck here since yesterday.”

Blake : “As a result of which I can now assure you that Cobolt will no longer be a problem.”

Blake : “In fact earlier today at our August installation, the Shield Police were once again able to stop an attempt to....”

Blake : “custom parade is located in another building. This happens to be a meeting-”

Katana : “Partners. I believe you cannot run a business without partners. This is a business isn’t it?”

Blake : “Oh, yes it is. We like to think of it as a good business. What exactly is it that you want? Partner.”

Blake : “Every time you turn that thing on it just gets printed out in my office. And Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes that includes your little computer conversation with Macleod the other day. Besides, what good could you possibly do old man?”

Blake : “How ‘bout for starters that there simply isn’t enough energy on the planet to take down the shield without killing us all. If I’m going to fast, slow me down. I think you should know this all Alan.”

Blake : “impression that that’s precisely what has happened. But it really doesn’t matter now, does it?”

Blake : “So why don’t you and I try to relax. No tears. Because it’s business as usual...forever.”

Ramirez : “And so was Noah’s flood, but that atleast served its purpose, it cleansed the world of evil and gave it a fresh start.”

Ramirez : “Macleod, until you honor your obligations here, you can’t return to Ziest and Katana.”

Ramirez : “Well, that’s the best news I’ve heard since my resurrection. Your time is now!”

Ramirez : "Chief metallurgist to King Philip the second of Spain and I am at your service."

Guard : "This is checkpoint one outside of security installation MAX. Identify yourselves."

Louise : "Hi. You won't shot me, will you? I mean, aheee. Oh, thank you. I was just hitching a ride and then these two guys grabbed me and, oh my and threw me in the trunk and oh shit."

Doctor : "hello, I'm Dr. Sonny Jackson, I've, ah, looked over your report. As near as I can tell you have a few bruises and lacerations but I think you'll be o.k. in a day or so."

Doctor : "Oh-ho, no way, they were both dead before the car stopped. I'm amazed they got as far as they did. Gosh, I've never seen a mess like that. They must have taken about a hundred bullets or so."

Louise : "All right, these tunnels run along both sides of MAX and they end up at the same place. They both have security rooms and Neyman's in one of them. So we should split up and we'll meet back together at the end. You take this way. Let's go Macleod."

Conner : “Oh really? We’re trapped in a room with a machine tha can cut off our heads!”

Blake : “Now I’m certainly no expert but it doesn’t look to me as though they’re coming here, does it?”

Blake : “it would seem they ‘re headed for December, don’t you agree? Guess it looks as though you-
