There is a bootleg version of the Unicorn Theme which has a woman named Suzanne Pawlitzki singing over the music of Tangerine Dream. The following information was provided by Jeff Stevenson who found it on the Tangerine Dream Listserv.
The lyrics are taken from a William Blake poem called The Angel and are slightly different :
The Angel by William Blake
I Dreamt a Dream! what can it mean?
And that I was a maiden Queen:
Guarded by an Angel Mild;
Witless woe, was ne'er beguil'd!And I wept both night and day
And he wip'd my tears away
And I wept both day and night
And hid from him my hearts delightSo he took his wings and fled:
Then the morn blush'd rosy red:
I dried my tears and armd my fears,
With ten thousand shields and spears.Soon my Angel came again:
I was arm'd, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And grey hairs were on my head.
What follows are the lyrics that are sung by Suzanne Pawlitzki in the
Tangerine Dream version of the Unicorn Theme.
Unicorn Theme By Tangerine Dream (Sung By Suzanne Pawlitzki)
I dreamed a dream! what can it mean?
I dreamed that I was a maiden Queen:
Guarded by an Angel Mild;
Witless woe was never beguiled!And I wept both night and day
And he wiped my tears away
I was so sad in a while he wiped my tears away
came to me night and day
I kept on crying
And hid from him my hearts delightSo he took his wings and fled:
Then the morn blush'd rosy red:
I dried my tears I armed my fears,
With ten thousand shields and spears.And soon my Angel came again:
I was armed, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And grey hairs were on my head.Soon my Angel came again:
I was armed, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And I found grey hair was on my head.
