Why did we create the LEGEND FAQ?
When we first started the LEGEND FAQ in April of 1995 we believed that by gathering information about the different versions of the film and soundtracks, and by letting fans know about the need for a director's cut, that LEGEND would one day be released in its original cut.
On May 21st, 2002 the 113 minute Director's Cut of LEGEND was released on a Collector's Edition DVD. The goal of the LEGEND FAQ had finally been achieved.
We have totally redesigned the LEGEND FAQ so that it functions better as a resource for anyone who wants to know more about the film and its history.
The LEGEND FAQ has been cited as a resouce in the following books :
- Virgin Film - Ridley Scott, by James Clarke, Virgin Books LTD, 2002, Pages 83-97. ISBN 0-7535-0731-5. (The LEGEND FAQ website is listed under the Web Resources)
- Ridley Scott - The Pocket Essentials, by Brian J Robb, Pocket Essentials, 2001. Pages 42-49. ISBN 1-903047-56-0. (The LEGEND FAQ is mentioned twice in the book, once in the LEGEND section and again in the listing of websites)
- The Films of Ridley Scott, by Richard A. Schwartz, Praeger Publishers, 2001. Pages 51-58. (The LEGEND FAQ is mentioned in the Bibliography section for the LEGEND portion of the book.)
- Ridley Scott Close Up - The Making of his Movies, by Paul Sammon, Thunder's Mouth Press, 1999. Pages 74-85. ISBN1-56025-203-0. (The LEGEND FAQ website is mentioned in the book and the old web address is given.)
Thank you to all of the LEGEND fans around the world who kept the faith, made their voices heard, and brought about the release of the Director's Cut of LEGEND.
